CLOSE TO WOMEN’S CYCLING - A PART OF OUR HERITAGE AND CYCLING CULTURE.

Many challenges are in place for the sport of cycling. From the COVID health pandemic to the challenge of expanding television coverage for competitive cycling globally. One area of growth and significant potential is the sport of women’s competitive cycling. There has been an upward trajectory of the sport regarding road racing, mtb, cyclocross and gravel racing in recent years. Each of these categories have untold stories of battle, perseverance, and overcoming of obstacles in search of victory or, better yet, the personal struggle of sport itself.

Full Speed Ahead has long been a supporter of women’s teams and athletes. These include road racing icons such as Team Cylance Cannondale and Giorgia Bronzini along with triathletes Michelle Vesterby and Carrie Lester. Women’s teams and athletes have always been part of our heritage and cycling culture which now include the following racing programs:
•    VALCAR TRAVEL SERVICE TEAM
•    RALLY WOMEN’S
•    JUMBO VISMA WOMEN’s
•    BIKE EXCHANGE WOMEN

•    CERATIZIT WNT PRO CYCLING

Teams such CERATIZIT WNT (Orbea)  have this to say about womens cycling:
“Cycling, in general, has been on an upward trajectory over the last few years, but especially women’s cycling. Ranging from the physical and tactical level of the riders increasing to an influx of professional teams, more women riding bikes for leisure globally, increased media coverage, television broadcasts and social media coverage, not to forget a greater number of fans cheering roadside, of course pre-COVID19 times! All this has contributed to women’s cycling becoming one of the fastest growing sports with increased demand for more and that is apparent in seeing a rise in the number of races organised alongside the men’s events and an increase in the professional men’s teams adding a women’s squad to their structure. We’ve been a women’s cycling team since 2015, starting as a club team and since 2017 have been a UCI professional team."
With the increase in women’s teams entering the professional ranks and expansion of World Tour teams that include a women’s program, Full Speed Ahead is continuing to look to these programs and commit to supporting, expanding, and developing with them.
On the product side Vision has now developed a women’s specific integrated handlebar, the Metron 5D Supercompact. This new bar system offers the stiffest and most aero handlebar available. Using a “supercompact” reach dimension and a narrower offering gives riders the choice of the best in fit and performance.
