THE CLASSICS – OUR PERFECT SPRING

Cobbles, climbs, white roads, chasing monumental wins. The FSA spring season is jam-packed with excitement, passion, surprise and intrigue. Our journey from Belgium to Italy, from France to Holland for the first half of one-day Classics has been full of successes and emotions, and Jakob Fuglsang of our sponsored team Astana, has just completed our triumphal spring taking the win with an impressive solo in Liège-Bastogne-Liège, after a third place in the Amstel Gold Race and a second place in Flèche Wallonne.

It all started with Strade Bianche in March, when Jakob Fuglsang from Astana Pro Team resisted until the uphill San Caterina street to an uncontainable Alaphilippe, reaching a great second place in the magnificent Piazza del Campo in Siena. Just like one year ago, cyclo-cross star Wout van Aert, now racing for our partner Team Jumbo-Visma, took third place.

The FSA campaign continued with the Alberto Bettiol triumph (EF Education First) in Belgium, dominating the terrible Tour of Flanders cobblestones with his FSA components and Vision wheels.
Considered the "University" cycling races, the Tour of Flanders is a fundamental test not only for riders, but also for cycling brands. On the stones of the Northern Europe bikes and components are subjected to harsh stresses for over 50 kilometers of cobbles, and the FSA products have passed the test with full marks!

EF Education First continued its fantastic Northern Campaign with the surprising second place of Simon Clarke at Amstel Gold Race, sprinting across the line just behind wunderkind Mathieu van der Poel in a thrilling finale to the first of the three Ardennes Classic races.

Thus we come to last weekend for the oldest of Monumental Classics, the Liege-Bastogne-Liege. With a strong lead-out of almost the entire Astana Pro Team, Fuglsang attacked at the final climb of the day for his first Monument victory, the third win by an Astana Pro Team rider in La Doyenne. The perfect final of a perfect spring.
